¡Rhythm & Roots!
A new show featuring Ballet Folklórico del Rio Grande and
Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar

Ballet Folklorico del Rio Grande and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar are creating a new show! While the companies already have three successful touring shows, these times have inspired them to create a new show for Hispanic Heritage programming entitled ¡Rhythm & Roots!.
The entire cast and crew (11 Mariachi, 1 drum set player, 16 dancers, 3 crew) are comprised of U.S. citizens, most of whom were born in the United States. The new show, ¡Rhythm & Roots! will include musical styles they heard growing up in the melting pot that is the U.S. These styles include Hip Hop, Step Dancing, Salsa, Motown, Rock, and Flamenco- along with a modern take on mariachi music and folklorico dance that creates a cultural fusion.
¡Rhythm & Roots! is a subtle reminder of how many proud Hispanics grew up in the United States. It is also intended to draw a wider audience including a young demographic and non-Hispanic fans. A student show, including a study guide, will also be offered.
