"They absolutely knocked it out of the park this weekend, and we are excited to have them back in December!"

- The Vista Center for the Arts

We created the interdisciplinary show "Mexico Lindo" to feature our partner organizations, Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles (the premier Folklórico dance company in the US) and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar. We are providing two video samples. The first, a medley of La Negra/Mexico Lindo, is raw footage from the June 12 debut of the show at the Vista Theater in Surprise, AZ. The second sample is of "Viva Veracruz" a medley we filmed in December. We wanted to put our own unique stamp on tradition, reinventing the familiar and reviving the forgotten. "Mexico Lindo" is a glorious musical journey where our skilled musicians and virtuoso dancers express the joy of our culture! The show is designed as a way to celebrate Mexico’s rich musical traditions, taking the audience through a journey of sounds, colors and dances from some of the most wonderful regions. Stories of Mexico are told through our fresh original choreographies inspired by the traditional dances of Mexico and performed to our masterfully executed and unique musical arrangements. Audiences will enjoy the huge variety of individually hand-designed costumes and props that we make ourselves. Our artistic goal is to reflect the traditional yet demonstrate modern variations that make "Mexico Lindo" an unforgettable experience. - Kareli Montoya, Artistic Director Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles; Jimmy Cuéllar, Artistic Director, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar
